How to add an Availi invitation to Google Calendar

For guests: adding an invitation you received

Every Availi invitation has a one-tap calendar button. You don't need an account and you don't need to install anything.

1. Open the invitation link your host sent (it usually starts with availi.com.au/i/).
2. Scroll to the event details and tap Add to Calendar.
3. Choose Google Calendar from the list. Google will open with the event pre-filled — date, time, title, location and a link back to the invitation.
4. Tap Save. Done — the event is on your calendar and you'll get Google's usual reminders.

On iPhone or Android

The steps are the same. On iPhone, if Google Calendar isn't your default, the link will open in the Google Calendar app if it's installed, or in your browser at calendar.google.com otherwise — either works.

On desktop

Open the invitation in your browser, click Add to Calendar, then Google Calendar. A new tab opens with the event ready to save.

For hosts: making sure the calendar button works

If you're creating an event in Availi, the calendar button is automatic — every published invitation gets one. Two things help guests add it cleanly:

• Set a real start and end time. Google Calendar needs both; if you only set a start, guests get a 1-hour default block.
• Add the venue address. Google Calendar turns it into a tappable map link, which is what your guests actually want at 6:55pm on a Friday.

Troubleshooting

Nothing happens when I tap the button. Some in-app browsers (Instagram, TikTok) block calendar links. Tap the three dots and choose "Open in browser" — the button will work from Safari or Chrome.

The event shows the wrong time. Google Calendar uses your phone's time zone. If you're travelling, double-check the time zone on the event before saving.

I want to remove it. Open Google Calendar, tap the event, then tap the bin icon. Removing it from Google won't change your RSVP on Availi.
